The Wedding:
TV magician and entertainer Paul Daniels stars as Bob Edwards, a successful businessman, in the CD release of this radio play, originally made for hospital radio stations in the UK. Bob's daughter, Tina Edwards, is in the midst of trying to organise her increasingly expensive wedding to her partner, James Clarke. Bob is more than willing to pay for all of the wedding and the work that needs doing on the couples new home. However, James is not keen. Despite agreeing with the old tradition that the father of the bride pays for his daughter's wedding, his pride prevents him from wanting to accept financial help for everything that he and his future wife need to help get them started in their married life together. It is then that a strong mix of pre-wedding nerves and financial worries causes a split which looks sets to end the couple's marriage before it has even started.

Simon Palmer (Jeffrey Holland) and Grace Reid (Judy Buxton) are busily planning their wedding together and although not as yet married, Simon comments that he already feels 'hen-pecked'! To share the task of choosing a new outfit for her wedding, Grace invites her two best friends from work around for a girly night drinking wine and browsing the many wedding magazines she has amassed. However, the party soon falls flat when it is discovered that one of Graces's friends, Julie Watkins (Vicki Michelle), is the same woman who Simon once jilted at the altar on their wedding day!
